Born in Hamburg, daughter of Olga Bintz, born as Olga Crasemann and Dr. jur. Werner Bintz, lawyer. Study at the Hansische university of arts in Hamburg with Professor Otto Czeschka (Viennese workshops) and in Munich at the academy for applied arts with Professor Friedrich Heubner (resident of Munich secession). Subsequently, exclusively active as a free lance painter. Numerous persons of the public life were painted by Babette Beckmann like Dr. Norbert Blüm, Drafi Deutscher and Joseph Beuys. During beeing a painter she ran her own art gallery for public exhibitions in Düsseldorf from 1996 till 2003. Babette Beckmann died on 28 May 2011 in Düsseldorf.
